Day 3-Venice Again

Seeing as how we came to Venice a little later last night, the kids wanted to come back because we hadn't done the beach yet and there was still so much they wanted to see.
Boys will be boys...First thing Russell and Ryker did was did for sand crabs.
Teek hated the water so bad last year, so we weren't expecting anything different this year, but the second we got there he said, "Mom, can I get in the water?" and he played in it the entire time, which is funny cause even at the swimming pool, he only wants to go in the hot tub not the pool because he says he hates cold water. He was so scared of the waves last year but he loved them this year...he's growing up. :(
 Brookie drawing in the sand.
Stupid Russell, he found a perfect sand dollar.

We found these rocks that were crawling with crabs, the boys had fun catching them. We saw tons of big ones but they couldn't catch the big ones.

Rick kind of broke away from us and I found him looking intently in the water, I knew exactly what he was doing, I said, "Honey are you trying to find me a sand dollar?" He smiled at me and said, "Yes." So cute.
We had a ton of fun playing in the waves. Russ tried so hard to get good at the boogie board...he snapped it in half...I don't think he mastered it.
T.K., Buried alive.

T.K. made a friend (Jay), and he had so much fun with him. They kept each other busy all day.
T.K. showing me how many "sharks" they buried.

Rick was excited to be where Arnold himself had worked out.

Rick was digging a hole to bury Ryk and he dug up a big crab in the process.
Ryker is so funny, he always wants to be buried so bad and then, once he is under the sand, he starts crying. I think he starts getting a little claustrophobic.
Can you tell, Rick gave him boobs and a bikini? :)

After several hours playing on the beach we left for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen and then went home to shower before coming back to the beach to walk around and shop.
I did not buy Ryker either of these hats, but I did buy t.k. this one. He looks so cute in it.

  The gym at the beach.
These boys were fun to watch, they were pretty dang good.
This little skater dude was at the beach again, he was so fun to watch.
It was getting dark and we heard some drums coming from the beach and a huge crowd had gathered so we walked out to see what was going on. It was basically just a big drum circle. When we were within about 100 ft of the circle we started smelling weed and it wasn't long before the cops came and broke it up. Teek was having so much fun, this guy was letting him drum along with him and he was loving it. After talking to the cops we found out the reason why they broke it up. It is a law that you cannot drum after sundown...they said that it just brings out the miscreants and they have had stabbings in past drum circles. While we were talking to the cops, T.K.'s balloon popped and he started crying so we went to the cops car with them and they gave us some sticker badges.

This guy was pretty good at ventriloquism so we gave him a little tip. he was fun to listen to.
On our way back to the car, we saw Robert Knepper (Theodore Bagwell, AKA, T-Bag, from Prison Break). He wouldn't pose for a picture, cause he was with his son, but we tried. He was cool. So rad seeing him on the street, Russ, Jade and Rick and I all loved that series.

A little Krispy Kreme break before bed. :)

Hi there!

The reason I have reached out to you is because of your blog! I am 44 and a mother to a quirky little 7 year old, Lily. She is my only child, and my whole world. When Lily was just 3 1/2 months old, I was diagnosed with Mesothelioma; a type of cancer that kills 90-95% of those who have it. Mesothelioma is caused by asbestos exposure, and I was unknowingly exposed from my dads work clothes when I was just 9 years old. As I’m sure you can imagine, the first thing that came to mind when I was diagnosed was my baby girl and how I wasn’t going to be able to watch her grow up.

After intense treatment and recovery, I’m still here 7 years later and cancer free! My journey with cancer was a terrifying one and I'd like to turn my pain into purpose and become someone that other people can look to for guidance, inspiration, and hope in situations like my own. I contacted you because I feel that your blog would be an excellent place for me to share my story. I’m trying to raise awareness of this horrible little known cancer that is such a deadly killer (and sadly, 100% preventable).

Would you be willing to share my journey as a new mother with cancer on your blog? Here is the link to my story if you want to read more: www(dot)mesothelioma(dot)com/heather

Either one would be such a great help to me.
Let me know what you think, thanks! :)
