Russell's Randoms

Sam came over to visit after he got home from his mission.
I love that Russell and B.J. are so alike, every picture of Russell at Lynn and Russ's is with a baby in his arms. After B.J. died and we were going through pictures and we noticed that, that is how B.J. spent all of his family time also.
Monkey's

Food Fabulousness!

We found another great all organic restaurant in Lindon, called Masa's.
This is a delicious, pineapple mango mint drink, no added sugar, so yummy!
Delicious shrimp taco and avocado taco.
Rick didn't love his as much as I loved mine, he got a chile relleno, a pork pibil taco and a grass-fed steak hanger taco.
I don't know why I am obsessed with taking pictures of my food but I think it's pretty. Eggs, avocado and salsa.
 deconstructed omelette.
 Golden Milk
  • 1 can of coconut plus 1 cup of water OR 3 cups of homemade coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • Pinch of black pepper (increases absorption)
  • Tiny piece of fresh, peeled ginger root or ¼ tsp ginger powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth.
  2. Pour into a small sauce pan and heat for 3-5 minutes over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Drink immediately-I actually added a lot more cinnamon and ginger than it called fro and I used a can of coconut cream as well.
 Lunch!
I love being home alone in the middle of the day making myself a nice meal and being able to eat it in peace, does this make me a bad mother.
Sweet potato fried with pink Himalayan sea salt and dill weed. The sauce is organic sour cream, horseradish, smoked paprika, hot shot, garlic and lime juice. So yummy!
Kale chips- Lime juice, garlic, hot shot and salad supreme.
Cabbage Crunch
  • ½ head red cabbage, chopped finely
  • ½ head white cabbage, chopped finely
  • ½ red onion, chopped
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro
  • ½ jalapeno pepper, minced (optional)
For the Dressing:
  • 1 teaspoon gomasio (ground sesame with salt)
  • 1 cup almond butter
  • ½ cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • ½ jalapeno pepper, chopped (optional)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon white miso paste* (optional)
Procedure:
  1. Mix the cabbage with the chopped onions. Add cilantro and jalapeno.
  2. Place all the dressing ingredients into a food processor and blend briefly. Mix into salad mix and serve.
  3. I substituted the gomasio for tahini and the almond butter for peanut sauce and added sesame seeds and sliced almonds. This was SOOOO DELICIOUS!
Juicing-Two carrots, 2 celery stalks, 3 stalks red chard, big handful of kale, one apple one beet, one lemon, one lemon grass stalk, handful of cilantro, 2 big chunks of ginger. the ginger gives it quite a bite, almost covers the taste of the beet.
The aftermath- my juicer has a leak, but it kind of leaves behind a lovely little masterpiece.

I eat a lot of eggs and sweet potatoes.  I cook up a bunch of sweet potatoes in the crockpot at the beginning of the week and then I have them ready to go for a couple of weeks. I am not a huge fan of sweet potatoes but I LOVE them with eggs. Add Rick's homemade salsa, arugula and my delicious sour cream mixture and they are fabulous.

I just finished a new batch of kombucha; orange coconut= DISGUSTING, grapefruit, lime=DELICIOUS, and Rick's strawberry=the best I've ever made, or so says he. Of course he said that, last batch. The previous 2 batches were really delicious also, I did pineapple, mango and they were super on point!

Random Me

My new found love of hummus even makes celery yummy.
I've been helping Janet get her house ready to sell and helping her unpack from her Michigan trip, so she wanted to take a break and go to a yummy lunch. We went to my new favorite, Alamexo, it was so Yummy!

At the gym, they have this awesome new hydromassage bed, it massages you with water. Do I really have to get up and go work out? Why is this thing on a timer?

And the foot therapy continues...still in a lot of pain, still can't find any relief. This ridiculous looking picture is a poultice of Dr. Christopher's bone , tissue and cartilage and some other oils.
This is what happens when you buy potatoes with no bud nip sprayed on them and you leave them too long. Oh well, I'm cutting their "hair" and mashing them up.

Lynn's Birthday 2015

We took Lynn to The Leonardo for her birthday to see the Body World's exhibit and then we went to lunch after at Red Iguana. We loved the exhibit. We saw the bodies exhibit in DC and were really excited to see it again, really fascinating stuff.
Pretty cool looking art exhibit. We also walked through an exhibit on homelessness which was pretty touching.
We watched a demonstration of one of Tesla's experiments, pretty cool.
  Happy Birthday, Lynnard!

Adam's Wedding

Groom and best man before the ceremony. Rick straightening Adam out. :)
  The ceremony

The wedding was at Wadley Farms, it was so pretty. They had a taco bar for  the reception, fun music and dancing. It was a really nice evening.

Embark

The girls had a New Beginnings night that was centered around the theme, Embark. They leaders decorated so cute.
Brooke spoke on personal progress, she was nervous but she did a great job.
This was an object lesson/ game.

February Birthday's

February birthday bash!
Happy birthday, Lynn, B.J., Brooke, Chase, Addi and Scott
We got Addi a camp chair and a flashlight. They had a camping trip in Moab coming up so I think she was excited to have some new gear.

We got Chase a gift card to Jack & Jill Bowling Alley, Alicia said he likes to go there and play arcade games.
Brookie with her gift from Kelsey, a yummy drink and moolah!
We got Lynn tickets to see Body World's and Lynn got Brooke some Chuck's that she is obviously in love with!

Brookie's breakfast surprise. Banana bread and fruit salad. My fruit salad was so yummy, if I do say so myself; water melon, cantaloupe, coconut, mint and lemon.
Brooke wanted a bunch of plants and I found these darling little plants with magnets on the back, I felt a little like a plant hero!
I had gotten Brooklynn a bunch of little things so I decide to wrap them all up in a present ball, so she could slowly unroll one at a time. It was kinda fun.
                  Rock and unroll....
 A John Lennon 3D picture...
Burt's Bee's Almond Butter....Shoes....
 Face wipes...a Buddah night light...
Cheer Up Buttercup essential oil...a cute denim vest...
Ryker got Brooklynn an organic white chocolate bar.
Brooke's YW's leaders came to the house and put up a poster and balloons for her.
Brooke harassed me from school all day, asking if I was going to come and pick her and Ashton up for lunch, so I grabbed them and just took them down the road to Taco Time. After dinner We took her to Cold Stone for ice cream.

She took some friends to the Marriott in Provo the following week for a birthday party sleepover. They had the mall right next door and we loader them up with lots of treats and money. I think they had a great time.
