Golding's Cabin

The Golding's invited us to their cabin for the weekend.
The second we got there, Russell jumps out of the car and says, Ewe, Mom, I found a mouse...of course, he was just messing with me and it was actually ONLY a bat.
The boys playing National Parks Monopoly.
Russell and Rick probably played 6 games of chess in the day and a half that we were there. I don't think Russell ever won a game.
We got there, settled in and I started making dinner (baked potato bar). After dinner we headed out on the boat. Russell was beside himself waiting through dinner, he was so excited to go catch a fish.
While we were loading the boat, the boys couldn't help but keep busy by using their nets to have a sword fight.
Riding in the back of the truck.
Russell caught like 6 fish that first night.
The lake was so pretty. it sprinkled a little and you couldn't hear thunder or see the lightning but if you watched the clouds, way up by the mountains the clouds would totally light up, it was the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Russell trying Merisa's approach at using your posing to make the fish look bigger...I don't really even see the fish when I look at this, I see Russell's weird pose.
Jadey, snuggling Teek and telling him the Three Little Pigs story.
Look at these 'bright' boys.
Brooke was obsessed with Jade all trip long. :)
After we docked the boat we went crawdad fishing. Merisa brought big chicken legs and we tied them to string and lower them into the water and the crawdad came a runnin. There would be like 10-20 crawdads on the chicken leg with in a matter of minutes.
Russell caught a baby one, so cute.
Brooke helping Teek lower his chicken into the water.
Pulling the chicken out slowly so the crawdads don't fall off, is the tricky part.
T.K.'s catch.
 Jade and Russell's catch.

Ryker has a TON in there, can you tell how full it is?
My catch. I was having a lot of fun catching these little buggers. I wanted to take the delicious little lobsters home and boil their butts but we didn't have a bucket.
I didn't get the picture taken in time but Kennedy had crawdad after crawdad hanging on the net, it was funny, they looked like the monkeys in a barrel, all connected in a line but they fell before I could capture it.
After we got home, we sat up talking and showing each other our favorite YouTube video's; Total Eclipse Of The Heart, Literal Translation, Earl Dibbles Jr. etc. The favorite for the weekend, Mokiki, doing the "sloshy swish" (which we all tried perfecting over the weekend). I have to say, I think I nailed it.
Day 2-We had a big waffle, egg and potato breakfast and then headed out on the boat-
Rick was bugged that Jade had pants and a flannel shirt on so he threatened to throw her in if she didn't shed a layer.
Merisa, giving her some love after her battle with Rick.
The first riders; Brooke, Teek and Kennedy

 Brookie, replacing Teek.
Me, Jade and Rick; Gary took us on a really long, really fierce ride...
These guys aren't gonna last long...
  Gettin vertical!
After we had, had out fill of tubing, Russell was more than happy to start fishing again. It got really cold. I lost all feeling in my fingers, but the boat ride was still fun and Russell was really enjoying catching so many fish. I brought stuff for sandwiches and we had lunch on the boat and then headed in to get warm. After Merisa made dinner all the boys headed out again to do some more fishing, They caught over 20 fish that night.
Four kids in one little bathroom. They were so cold, they all stuffed in there to stay warm.
Snuggling to stay warm.
 This one is a biggie!
Rick stole Jade's flannel and was trying it on, being a total dork. He couldn't fit his arms in it. so he tied it like a scarf.
 Coming ashore.
While the boys were out fishing for the 3rd time. The girls rode the 4 wheelers, played a football game and gave each other massages. Merisa and I watched The Other Guys (with way too many interruptions).
Russell and Gary trying out their catch. I had some too, it was pretty dang good.
We woke up Sunday morning and lounged around a bit, talking, packing and cleaning before we hit the road to come home. we were going to go to Park City and do something fun for the rest of the Labor Day weekend but Russell woke up that morning, throwing up.
