I Heard from my friend Mike about this cool festival so Rick and I went down, we loved it, it was so chill with tons of cool local bands playing like 3-5 songs sets. There were some really cool local artists and fun booths and Mike put us on the list, so we didn't have to pay.He owns a company called Gigviz, that records and streams live concerts, so if you can't make it out, you can still watch the concert on the internet. It was cool to see him in action.
We left for lunch and went to Copper Onion, I knew we would be gone all day, so I had no choice but to indulge, and indulge I did, I got a sarsaparilla drink, delicious burger and arugula salad. I loved that I could eat a burger and feel good about it though, the menu stated where it came from and that it was grass fed so I was able to indulge with little guilt. The salad was to die for.
Rick got the steak and eggs and was equally pleased with his meal.
Some of the cool local craftsmanship.
They had paints and canvas and paper set up so you could paint. We didn't paint, but we had fun watching others paint.
Some of the bands.
Pretty live art.
Coalatree had a booth there and Rick bought me some awesome stuff. A jacket made of recycled coffee (what)? Some organic socks, etc. They are a really awesome company that
recognizes the importance of living a sustainable life by becoming more self-reliant and less dependent on unnatural foods and goods. Most of their products are made from organic or recycled materials and they source sustainable materials to support organic farms throughout the world.
Buying and supporting organic goods persuades more farmers to grow organic. So I was happy to support them. They have an organic farm in New Castle, Colorado that produces fresh produce and livestock that they donate to their society members, the community and promotional events. It also provides a place for their society members and others to come live the Coalatree lifestyle, plant and harvest the garden, fish, float the river, skateboard and greet the outdoors. Kind of a cool hippie dippie company. :)
We bought this T from another local artist who had some really amazing, unique stuff.
