My friend Merisa threw herself a BIG 40th birthday bash. In April she sent out invitations which included the Wicked CD and The Wicked book. I am proud to say that I am the ONLY one who read the entire book. It was kind of a feat too, it is the longest book I have ever read, like 1500 pages. I LOVED it! It was heartbreaking.
We started the party by meeting at Merisa's where she gave us all Dooney and Burke purses, inside the purses there was a gift card to Nordstrom, a gift card to Victoria's Secret, $50, and ticket's to Wicked. After we opened our presents we loaded up and headed to City Center in Salt Lake. On our way to lunch I stopped and was interviewed about on-line security and I ended up being on the news that night.
We ate lunch at the Blue Lemon. It was delish! My sandwich below. :)
After lunch we shopped and shopped and shopped. Below is the bathroom in one of Merisa's favorite stores, Brighton. After lunch we sat in the courtyard and played Merisa trivia, which I am happy to say, I KILLED it! Following the trivia we went to the Marriott and checked in. I shared a room with Alicia and Coupe. Later that night we went to Tucanos for dinner and shopped a little more. We came back and opened presents and talked and then hit the hay.
The next day, after breakfast and some down time we went to the main event, WICKED! It was SO amazing. I loved every second of it. I laughed, I cried, I got chills. Glinda was great and Elphaba was PHENOMENAL! I was on a high for weeks after, I am dying to see it again.
After the show we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then home. When I got home, (9:30ish p.m.) the entire family ran out to the rode to welcome me. I was only gone a day but Rick was beside himself. His exact words were, "Your kids really need you. One thing I know in life is that I can't live without you. You can't ever leave me, I am leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks and I'll be fine leaving you, but YOU can never leave me. It hurts too bad". For a big guy, he's kind of a wimp.I ordered Son Of A Witch when I got home in hopes of riding the Wicked high a little longer but a month and a half later I still haven't started reading it. I have been busy reading Eat Right For Your Blood Type.
