My baby playing on the beach, (dumping bubbles out).
Have you ever seen someone so excited to be swinging?
Ryker caught this snail, he loved how weird it felt to have the snail suction his hand.
Ryker also caught this crab.
So, the day before the below pictures were taken I told Rick that I needed him to find me a starfish on the beach. We always find sand dollars but never starfish. Besides the quarter sized one that Brooke found years ago we have never seen a live one in the ocean. Well the next day I went out to check on Russell and Ryker who were fishing up on the jetty and I looked down into the rocks and saw a huge one and then another and then another and then another...they were everywhere. I was so excited I went in to get some. The waves were coming in really hard on the rocks and the rocks were covered in mussels which if you have never been slammed up against a mussel covered rock you wouldn't know but they are SHARP! But, I was fearless and kept going back for more...hate if you want but I say if it doesn't have a face...I can't be real sad about killing it. I wanted to dry them out for a bowl in my house. Well I paid the price. I was bleeding everywhere by the time I was done and had scrapes all up and down both legs and arms. I think we got 12 in all. Russell started helping me after Ryker said, "mom please don't go back in, I don't want you to get hurt." So Russell took over and pulled a few out. Jade had been having so much fun collecting since we got there that I paid Brooke $6 to run back to the villa and get Jade so she could see the starfish. Yes, she was jealous!
Rick and the girls playing in the water.
Me and the girls, playing in the water.
Rick and I really didn't want hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner but the kids did, so we took off and went to Red Lobster for a big lobster feast and then came back and had a bonfire on the beach with kids. Teek cracks me up...before we came out for the fire he was looking through the beach bag for the goggles. I told him he didn't need goggles we were making a fire. He said, "I know, it's for the smoke don't get in my eyes."
