My Dad came up from New Harmony for some testing at the VA. He dropped some family records that he has been working on off at my sis's house. So I went there to spend a few minutes with him. I let all the kids stay home from school so they could see him also. Brooke said, Mom, you have a Dad?" I invited him and his wife over for breakfast the following morning. We had a nice visit and I was extremely grateful for the volumes and volumes of family history that he brought me. I have been reading a lot of it and while a lot of it is from his perspective and his tainted view. There is still mounds of valuable information. I found a letter that I had written to him my first year of marriage in the book. I told him in the letter that I had entered a American Fork City writing contest and had won. The prize was a $25 gift certificate. I included the poem in the letter. I had no recollection of this until I reread it. It was so fun to have that memory to look back on. Being the irrevocable romantic that I am, I have so much appreciation for what it is that he has done. The time, money and energy that he put into transcribing, researching, and compiling all this information is admirable.
