This is the lounge area of our lobby. Last time we were in Cancun we stayed at the Casa Magna Marriott, it was so nice but we had to fend for ourselves out there on the streets of Cancun, food was outrageously expensive.
This time we decided to do an all inclusive. Too bad we're not alcoholics, we really could have gotten our money's worth, but we did enjoy all the the virgin drinks we could handle. I also became versed in "lush lingo", for example, if you want a virgin Bahama Mama you need to order a Banana Mama.
What could be more tragic than paying the same price as the drinkers when you are not a drinker you might ask???? I'll tell you, the whole country of Mexico is void of Dr. Pepper!! Can you even imagine such a place? In my wildest dreams I could not have imagined that such a paradisaical place could be void of the sweet indulgence of my existence! Well it was painful, but I did manage to survive on Pepsi! If only you could hear the disdain in my voice as I utter the word, Pepsi! On the trip home we found a man in the airport who had a D.P. can in his avaricious hand! We immediately accosted him. We found the food stand he directed us to only to find they were charging an abusive $3.50 for a can!! I would have to endure the 5 hour flight home before my thirst would finally be quenched!
This is the Mexican restaurant in the hotel, Mama Maria's. It was probably our least favorite of the 5 available restaurants, but it was still good.
